Nordic Skiing | Every Body Moves

If steep slopes aren’t your thing but you still like the idea of being on snow then para Nordic skiing could be the perfect antidote.

The sport is broken into cross country and biathlon, the first is all about strength and stamina while the latter also incorporates accuracy as athletes shoot at targets with rifles.

While the sport is not one widely practiced in the UK there are adapted training methods for the road and a host of courses in Europe.

Thing you might need to get started

  • Skis and poles are needed but can be rented on site and Nordic courses
  • A sledge will be needed for lower limb amputees
  • Some ski wear will also be needed, though you are likely to work up a sweat!
