Overview

Headway Cambridgeshire's supported exercise and sports programme has been developed in partnership with people who have experienced a brain injury. Participants want to keep fit, and especially want to have fun with others while doing so. The programme has been designed to enable all to participate, and we provide a range of activities, including one to one support. For people who want to progress further our specialist trained personal trainers can provide one to one sessions in local gyms. The social element is really important too and people off stay for a peer led social group after the activity or access other groups in our Getting Ahead programme which includes Mindfulness sessions after the activities.

Peer support is very important and potential participants may want to come along to the social sessions before or after the activities. Some programmes are led by people with lived experience. We strongly believe that participants should be involved in influencing the programme. So if you have any ideas, please share them!
