Disability Netball

England Netball is keen to increase the opportunities for all disabled people to play netball in a safe and welcoming environment.

Netball for people with learning disabilities

At present most of our disability netball is played by people with learning disabilities. We hold annual championships for adults and young people with a learning disability the ‘Marion Smith Championships’; for more information on this click here.

In addition, netball is part of the Special Olympic programme with the sport making its debut in the Leicester Games in 2009.

Netball for people from other impairment groups

We would hope that anyone with any impairment who wishes to play netball can be encouraged and supported to play the game. With some minor adaptations to the rules and / or equipment we believe anyone can play netball.

We are keen to know of any existing opportunities for deaf people to play netball. In addition, we are keen to work with individuals and organisations to develop netball for people with different impairments where there is an identified need.
