Making the grade in Archery

Grand National Archery Society logo

Archery GB have dedicated a team to develop archery for disabled people. Their mission statement’s as follows:

‘To advise the Archery GB, through the Operations Director, on appropriate action to be taken in respect of national legislation, disability sport regulation and issues raised by individual members and clubs within the Society.

To recommend appropriate individuals for selection and development in the Squad structure.

To identify new initiatives to encourage active integration within archery’.

As Archery GB say on their own website ‘Archery has always been in the forefront of integration between able-bodied and disabled participants. We share the same shooting line, tolerate the same weather and compete for the same trophies - and frequently win them!!’

So if you want to know more about how you can make the grade in Archery then please contact the Archery GB or contact Ray Fields (Ray has worked as a coach for archers with disabilities for over 25 years. Following a spinal injury in 2003 he is now paraplegic).
