29th July 10When Max Burt, 45, received massive head injuries after a freak collision with an out-of-control fire engine 10 years ago, he was left paralysed on his left side and a permanent wheelchair user. The head injury also left him deaf in one ear, with uncontrollable tremors, and severe sight and speech impairments.

27th July 10At her first IPC Powerlifting World Championships, In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Zoe Newson (Suffolk Spartans), found herself the youngest lifter there, undaunted by this she looked confident with her opening lift of 77.50kg in the 40kg category, which put her into 5th place at the end of the first round in the Senior World Championships and 1st in the Juniors.
